Hoy inició la Cumbre Mundial de la Organización A Future Without Poverty FWOP) que reúne a más de 50 representantes de universidades, gobiernos, empresas, ONG e individuos de ocho países alrededor del mundo.
La Maestría Internacional de Turismo Sostenible del CATIE (Centro Agronómico Tropical de Investigación y Enseñanza) es parte de la red de FWOP y busca que este centro de investigación se convierta en un “showroom” de tecnologías y enfoques del trabajo para la erradicación de la pobreza.
Muhammad Ibrahim, director general del CATIE agradeció a los presentes elegir al CATIE como sede de este evento y manifestó que este Centro trabaja en el empoderamiento de pequeños emprendimientos, seguridad alimentaria, promoción de la agricultura y en el desarrollo de redes de gestión de conocimiento con el fin de apoyar su misión de erradicar la pobreza.
Today, the A-Future-Without-Poverty (FWOP) World Summit began, bringing together more than 50 representatives from universities, governments, businesses, NGOs and individuals from eight countries around the world.
The International Master's Degree in Sustainable Tourism (CATIE) is part of the FWOP network and aims to make this research center a showroom of technologies and approaches to poverty eradication .
CATIE Director General Muhammad Ibrahim thanked those present to elect CATIE as the venue for this event and said that the Center works on the empowerment of small enterprises, food security, agriculture promotion and the development of knowledge management networks with in order to support its mission to eradicate poverty.
