Julie Hutchens, Owner of Excite! Gym & Cheer for the past 15 years has been instructing and writing curriculum for kids for over 35 years. Being raised with 3 brothers, Julie has always enjoyed sports and physical activity. She was raised in a family owned business and is thrilled to be living the same dream. Julie danced with the Dance Arts Co. and taught dance through high school and college. She studied dance with the American Ballet Company and used that time to attend many workshops and camps.
At the University of Oklahoma, Julie majored in dance and theater productions and won best choreographer awards for her choreography in the Sooner Scandals. She was also a cheerleader in middle school and high school and attended United Cheer Association camps for 6 years. Julie was the director of Kids in Action in Kingwood for 4 years. She opened a sports, dance, and gymnastic program for young children at Waukesha, WI YMCA and taught PE to home schooled children. In Nashville, Julie directed the preschool program for Harpeth Gymnastics.
Coming back to Texas, Julie opened the preschool program at U.S. Gold in Grapevine TX. Julie won the Billy R. Smith Award in 2003 which is an award voted on by peers and event organizers, the Highland Village Mayor Award, and most recently, the Highland Village Rotarian of the Year for 2015 16. She is an active member of numerous cheer, gymnastic, athletic, business and judging organizations and is passionate about always continuing her training and education. She is married and has two wonderful children that have graduated college, who she is extremely proud of.
