Angel C. Dye is an
undergraduate student at Howard University in Washington, D.C. studying English
with a concentration in Creative Writing.
She is the only child of a
single mother, and she originates from Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas by way of
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Angel fell in love with the art of the written and spoken
word at the age of ten, and she began writing short stories, novels, and
poetry. She has competed in local and national poetry and oratorical competitions
and was even published in Teen Ink Magazine
in 2010. Angel aspires to finish her undergraduate studies and go on to pursue master’s
and doctorate degrees.
After her studies she hopes to
become a professional author and English or Creative Writing professor.
Eventually her goal is to found a non-profit afterschool arts program for K-12
students with limited access to the arts in their public schools and to invest
her passion for fine arts and mentorship there. Currently she is publishing her
first poetry compilation entitled Rhyme
