Tamera Nalls



Tamera Nalls is the CEO and Founder of Journey of a Young Lady, Inc. a nonprofit organization that impacts the lives of young women while providing opportunities in the area’s of Apprenticeship, Community Ambassadorship, Entrepreneurship, Public Speaking, Life Skills, Community Service and Social Grace through the Cotillion program. At Journey we believes that beliefs dictate behavior, so our holistic approach is simple we seek to: Educate, Refine, and Polish. Tamera understands if we truly want to impact the lives on a sustainable level we must extend training to the parents. By including the parents we become co-­‐laborers so the impact starts within the home, and began to extend out into the community. 

Tamera is a Nationally Certified Etiquette Instructor, a Homeschool Administrator, and a published Author of two books, two Journals and one instructional called Skills for Life “Coaching Healthy Cleaning Habits” for Teen Ladies. Tamera has written 4 Gospel songs and is an Ordained Deaconess serving in ministry for over 25 years. Tamera is also Certified in “Coaching Healthy Behaviors,” where she uses biblical principals and practical strategies to strengthen the relationship between mother and daughter during the teen years. As a speaker Tamera engages her audience while empowering them with the tools they need to become strong, confident, and elegant young women. Tamera is on the board of the YMCA and a partner with Self Esteem Elevated a ministry that hosts an annual Christmas Dinner providing food, clothing, and make-­‐over’s for a local battered women’s shelter. She is also an alumni of Northwood University in Cedar Hill, Texas. Tamera is the wife and helpmate of Troy Nalls, for over 20 years; and the mother of three wonderful children: LeiSha (27), Jasmine (19), and Troy James E. Nalls, II (15). Tamera currently resides in Dallas, Texas where she calls home at least for now.
